My Life, My Relationship (Forced Marriage Project)

Tackling Harmful Practices in Relationships.

My Life, My Relationship supports people with learning disabilities, autism or both who may be at risk of a harmful relationship or require support to understand what a positive relationship is.

My Life, My Relationship evolved from Respond's My Life, My Marriage service established in January 2015 to raise awareness about the issue of forced marriage of people with learning disabilities. We provide training to professionals and engage with communities to promote dialogue and change.

My Life, My Relationship provides:

  • 1-2-1 Casework
  • Advocacy and advice
  • Training for professionals
  • Engagement with communities and families
  • Creative resources
  • Psycho-educational programmes
  • Conferences and events

  • My Life, My Relationship enables clients to:

  • Feel more in control of their lives.
  • Experience healthier and safer relationships.
  • Have a better understanding of their human rights.
