Midlands Services

Our Midlands Hub was established in the spring of 2019 with a focus on NHS England’s Transforming Care Agenda (TCA).
Based in Birmingham, we have been delivering a range of trauma informed training across the Midlands to professionals to support a culture change and enable professionals who work with people with learning disabilities, autism or both to work from a trauma informed lens. Our transforming care model supports people who are subject to long-term hospital admissions to move back into their communities in a supportive and respectful way.
The model incorporates relational and therapeutic support directly to the people we work with and a Circles of Support and Accountability framework (COSA). Respond supports and collaborates with professionals within the MDT throughout transition, from hospital to community and beyond, to ensure best possible outcomes for the people we work with.
We recruit and train volunteers for each COSA which provides a supportive social network and helps the person build a safe, positive and purposeful life which does not put them or others at risk when they move back to the community. Click here for more information about volunteering.
