Margaretta is a BACP accredited psychotherapist with 20 years of experience using trauma focused approaches. She has worked with individuals and groups within the community who have experienced sexual abuse requiring support across the lifespan. Margaretta also works with children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and emerging mental health problems.
A particular area of interest for Margaretta is the interpersonal neurobiological basis of attachment which teaches us that even in the most difficult early life experiences, positive relational experiences lead to change across the lifespan. Our neurology is not fixed but dynamic and ever changing and will respond to our current experiences.
An experienced children and young person’s Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), Margaretta has worked extensively in supporting families through crisis whilst providing supervision and training for colleagues and the wider professional network.
